Joe Sewell

SS 1920-30 Indians

When Ray Chapman's replacement was injured on Labor Day, rookie Sewell was thrust into prominence during the ensuing pennant race with the Yankees and White Sox. He responded by batting .329 despite having less than 100 minor league games under his belt. Thus, a Hall of Fame career was born, with Joe becoming the most difficult man to strike out in the game's history.
